This quote is from the renowned conservative journalist and commentator William F. Buckley Jr.
The Greek philosopher Plato believed that in an ideal society "philosopher kings" would be needed to compel the common masses to do the "right" thing. Today, our equivalent of these "philosopher kings" are the Ivy-League educated class with heads full of academic theories. It is amazing how many people are willing to bow down to these elites and concede their own sovereignty to those who supposedly know better than them how society should operate. All that matters to them is that these elites are "smart". But knowledge is not wisdom. The academic class lacks real world experience, and often advocates nonsense that can turn out to be a disaster (ex. Marxism).
